Living In Lost Angeles

Jack Deth could tell you all about the city of angels, of course his city is submerged beneath the blue waters of the Pacific ocean.

The real city of angels, the current Los Angeles is probably worthy of being submerged beneath the ocean, and perhaps that day will come, but for now it exists in a state of decay, as in urban decay.

Power fit for a king. There's power in this city. Just cast your gaze off in any direction as you make your way upon its streets and you'll see them, these huge structures of steel and energy. Listen closely you may even hear them hum.

As I sat here pondering which direction to take this entry it occurred to me, life is to a great degree what you make of it. I could have posted images of human filth and urban decay but that already permeates the realm of reality, the now. What would I have the city be? What can I conjure in my mind to make of it? I make of it Night City. I make it Cyberpunk and I make it the here and now as I exist within its grasp.

That's right, this city grabs hold of you, if it likes you, if it wants you. It reaches out and grabs hold of you and then you become its captive. You can either choose to resist and perish or submit and thrive. I have chosen the latter. The city got ahold of me over two decades ago. I fell in love with it like any fool who first catches a glimpse of something beautiful, even if that beauty is only skin deep, or an idea of an image of what something beautiful should be.

Here's the ideal. The unrelenting sun burning through a monument of power in the city of Los Angeles.

Praise God, I do love being here. I shouldn't but I do. I can't think of any other place I should be. I can think of places I'd rather be, but none come close to being a place such as this Lost Angeles, a place that I should be. It called me here and I answered. I don't think I could leave if I wanted to...
